Our Instincts Are Killing Us.
Mother Nature has given us the tools and techniques to allow us to exist. Baby turtles will do their Turtle Walk to the Sea as soon as they are born, baby birds fly away, and we seek food and comfort as tiny babies. This ‘Basic Instinct’, as it is called, is our drive to survive, to exist, and to make sure our species continues; every animal, every living creature has those ‘basic instincts’ that have allowed each species to exist. It’s the law of nature; without it we and living creatures of all nature would soon die off. But what if a species, for whatever reason, went in a different direction; would they die off? What if the natural environment were to change; could a species change and exist? Can you fool Mother Nature? Or would they die off.
Here on Earth we have variations of our natural environment; we have the frozen North and South Polar regions. We have deserts, we have forests, mountains, and oceans. It’s apparent that mankind can live on land but not in the oceans; with adjustments in clothing and behavior we can survive in cold and hot climates. These adjustments will have an impact on our longevity and will depend on how well we adapt and tolerate various climates. Can we tolerate the changes in our diet? Can we continue to eat pizza, donuts, sweet rolls, steaks, fish, lunch meat, bacon, ice cream, etc. and remain healthy? Today medical science has proven with overwhelming data that the answer is a resounding NO! Well, can our species continue to exist with this animal based diet that produces 80% of our chronic illnesses while destroying the earth by producing grazing land that used to be forest, polluting the water from animal waste (feces, urine, blood, hormones, pesticides, etc.) and using huge fans to ‘fan away the polluted air from the huge waste pits of these CAFO (Certified Animal Feeding Operations…the new name for Slaughterhouses. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck…!!!) Of course the answer is a resounding NO!!! In fact there are three diseases that are now epidemics; heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes and Dementia such as Alzheimer’s Disease.
Eskimos, with their warm huts and clothing are able to tolerate the cold while the Nomads of the Desert have learned how to tolerate the heat. The majority of the human population lives in a temperate climate which gives us our food and allows us to tolerate the changing weather conditions. We have been doing this for thousands of years. Yet, something has happened, our existence is threatened, very threatened. We have changed our eating habit; the three disease processes which the medical community states are epidemic and are caused by food are: heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s Disease. From a health standpoint we are in dire straights with heart disease being the number one Cause of Death (COD) in America, type 2 diabetes rapidly increasing each year and Alzheimer’s Disease estimated to almost double in a relative short time. The costs, especially for Alzheimer’s, is unsustainable. These three components are developing at a rapid pace and are threatening our very existence.
From a medical viewpoint, these three diseases are nothing more than ‘dietary diseases’; that is, each one of these diseases (and many more) are a result of eating toxic substances to our species. We are eating ourselves into long term illnesses with death being the end product. We are certain that the overwhelming majority of Heart Disease, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’s are Dietary Disease Processes. We are certain that we can reverse and prevent Heart Disease and Type 2 Diabetes; and we are very close to proving that we can do the same for Alzheimer’s Disease. Here are some concepts that are well accepted in medical research today; the #1 risk factor for Alzheimer’s is ‘the food we eat’; in fact, new research has found that we can prevent up to 90% of Alzheimer’s cases, just with simple changes to diet and lifestyle. And these same food choices can ALSO prevent more than 90% of type 2 diabetes, 80% of coronary heart disease, and 70% of colon cancer. As many practicing physicians today will state in regards to these disease processes, “It’s the food.”
The research regarding the consumption of animal flesh and animal products being toxic and promoting disease in our species is overwhelming and continues to be accumulating. We have proven, beyond any doubt, that the consumption of animal flesh and/or animal products such as milk, cheese, etc will produce these and most other chronic illness that the world has today. Our Standard American Diet of meat, poultry, and dairy is destroying our population and yet the driving force that keeps this poisonous diet in place is greed. The food that we eat today has developed into a vicious cycle; each industry feeding off other industries. The reality is that these self-serving industries that are supported by each other are killing the host. We are the ‘host’ that the food, pharmacy, medical, and, yes, government industries are feeding upon. All because our instincts have been hijacked.
Our instincts of wanting food to taste good, easy to find, and making us feel good have allowed these corporations of greed to feed upon our basic drives; our instincts and traits that for thousands and thousands of years has allowed us to exist on Earth. However, with our incredibly rapid rise in overpopulation and food production we have gotten ourselves into one heck of a situation; we are dying. We are now seeking salt, sugar, and fat in such excessive quantities that 1. it’s killing us and 2. it’s killing Earth. If we know that, why can’t we all just get along? Good question.
