Vegan Doc - Dr. Ron L. Knaus

Would you like to know how to become empowered with the confidence and knowledge to implement intelligent nutrition, physical fitness, and lifestyle behaviors that will prevent and reverse the diseases of modern society, increase years of healthy living while greatly reducing the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and many other illnesses that destroy many years of our lives.  Sounds overwhelming but not if you take one step at a time.

Dr. Ron is a plant-based sports medicine physician and psychiatrist who has 40 plus years of experience in the fields of psychiatry, sports medicine, and wellness programs.  Developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle has become exceedingly difficult in our society today; following his retirement from active practice he became an expert in the field of plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine.   He became very active on Facebook as “Vegan Doc”, connecting the health aspects of ‘plant based’ nutrition, exercise, and stress management to the Vegan and Plant-based Communities. The basic tenet in the Plant Based Community is ‘personal health’ while the Vegan Community is based on ‘Animal Rights’ however both avoid eating animal products.  Maintaining health for the Vegan Community is just as important as it is for the Plant Based community; Vegan Doc is that connecting link between the two.

Providing Tips for a Healthier Life

We eat the wrong foods, we do not move enough, and we worry ourselves to death…really! And it’s not your fault! Our present-day society promotes unhealthy life styles, poor eating guidelines, and increased stressors; we are a sick society with a progressive downhill course. Vegan Doc is a leader in today’s health crusade, a sought-out speaker, and social media guru; as a Board-Certified Sports Medicine Physician, he has consulted with professional and amateur athletes for the past 30 years and as a Board-Certified Psychiatrist he has taught his clients valuable stress reduction techniques for over 40 years. Vegan Doc is the connecting link between the Plant-based and Vegan Communities, he delivers the most up-to-date health information relating to our well-being; he disperses valuable medical and scientific information that pertains to our collective health.

Veganism Meets a Plant Based Diet

The elimination of consuming animal products is a primary component that will save the planet, the animals, and ourselves. The production of animal products is causing over 50% of greenhouse gases and is the leading cause of Global Warming. Unless we change our eating habits, we will eat ourselves to death. Admittedly, embracing veganism present some challenges-especially when you have just switched to this lifestyle. Yes, it’s difficult to ditch habits that we have pick up from our families and culture. And now it’s even more difficult because most of our education today is from television and social media, which is driven by personal/corporation greed and not based on healthy living; in fact, it’s based on destroying life.

Veganism is rooted in one’s awareness of the cycles of life and the importance of living in harmony with nature. Vegan Doc wants to help promote this mindset, not just to urge people to become vegans but to also to educate others about what veganism is all about. At the very least, it would make more people open to the idea of veganism, plant-based nutrition, and overall health.

About Dr. Ron L. Knaus

Who am I: I am a retired Osteopathic Physician, Board-Certified in both Psychiatry and Sports Medicine. I was a Founder/medical director for Tampa Bay Academy and the Founder/Medical Director for the American Asperger’s Association. Upon his retirement he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award and has since, devoted his time to speaking, teaching, writing, and developing a specific Health Coach System.

What do I do: I speak to community, medical, and business organizations on various aspects of health, nutrition, exercise and stress reduction.

Mission Statement: To promote present day health concepts that are sustainable by using concepts of a plant-based nutrition, movement exercise and stress reduction that contribute to lifelong health and well- being.
