Hope.
Hope for the Future. There appears to be a Shift in the way we look at our consumption of animal products. The two most respected medical journals in the world are the New England Journal of Medicine (US) and The Lancet (UK). Recently in The Lancet an editorial titled, “The Evidence suggests a reckoning with our habits are long overdue.” Here we have one of the most prestigious medical journals in the world stating that “People should limit their meat intake for their health and for the health of the environment” and they offered current ideas for curbing meat consumption including “taxing meat products, but they explain a broader approach might be more effective, including addressing farming subsidies and processing methods and changing consumer habits through thoughtful conversations. They caution that such efforts need to happen soon for the sake of the planet and people.” Yes, the powers that be, and I include our medical establishments here, are like huge ocean going vessels that take a long time in turning around, but the direction and hope is there. Remember, 50 years ago, even physicians were smoking and advertising for Camels and Lucky Strikes. The sooner the better. Stay Healthy My Friends, Vegan Doc
