Prostate Cancer

Dec 17, 2018 | Posted by "Dr. Ron" | Uncategorized |

Prostate Cancer; it is the 2nd largest cause of death in men (lung cancer is number 1). African American men have the highest incidence of prostate cancer; they are 60 percent more likely to develop the disease and more than twice as likely to die from it compared to Caucasian men. Some studies reveal that ‘men with a family history of prostate cancer are at higher risk for developing prostate cancer’. Men who served in the military during the Vietnam and Korean wars who were exposed to Agent Orange are at a higher risk for developing prostate cancer (and other cancers/diseases).
The above information would indicate that the cause of Prostate Cancer is due to genetics, race, pesticides (Agent Orange) but that is far from the end of the story. Let’s dig a little deeper. In Japan in 1950 there were no deaths from breast or prostate cancers; NONE! Let’s look at another interesting fact; following the move from Japan to the United States the succeeding generations will develop prostate cancer deaths that are equal to American men. Suddenly we have eliminated genetics, race, and pesticides….Really? Well, what is it?
Well, it’s the food! More and more studies are continuing to report that Cancer is closely related to our Standard American Diet (SAD). We know that about one third of deaths from cancer are due to the 5 leading behavioral and dietary risks: high body mass index, low fruit and vegetable intake, lack of physical activity, tobacco use, and alcohol use. Ah, thoughts to consider. Stay healthy my friends, Vegan Doc
