Meat consumption 2018

Meat consumption 2018

Nov 26, 2018 | Posted by "Dr. Ron" | Uncategorized |

Have Americans cut back on red meat and poultry in 2018?  It’s time we all did.
We now have Meatless Mondays and reports that millennials are moving away from meat but is it true? Well, not according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). They report that in 2018 that annual red-meat and poultry consumption in America will reach 222 pounds per person for the first time, ever. At 222 pounds per person, overall meat consumption comes out to the equivalent of more than 800 quarter-pound burgers per person when measured by weight, or about 2.4 burgers per day. Can you imagine eating 2.4 quarter-pounders everyday!! Really? There is talk of a Meat Tax however you can bet your last dollar that the Food Industry that they are totally preparing to squash anyone from moving in that direction. Stay healthy my friends, Vegan Doc
