Endemic Warfare
Are we destine to fight, is this some type of unconscious fear that turns us on others. Could this be an unknown instinctual behavior for survival. Or are we too civilized. Or not civilized enough. Let’s assume it is a deep rooted, basic survival instinct for the species. I’m not trying to open up the wounds of Mr. Floyd; I’m trying to understand why whites keep fighting blacks, Latinos, and Asians. Does this type of supremacy exist elsewhere?
Endemic Warfare is basically fighting a continuous battle between two tribes. Of course this has always been in reference to ancient tribes but fits rather well with our White Supremacy in today’s society.
I’m 83. I’ve seen us put a man on the moon, I’ve seen television, air planes, ‘Silly Putty’ to the Atomic Bomb, Super Glue and Mr. Potato Head (no, not him yet), the Hydrogen Bomb to McDonald’s, etc. But I have never seen equality of the races; quite the opposite. It really doesn’t matter how civilized we look or have become; we continue to act like prehistoric tribes. The aspect of Endemic Warfare to continue in the United States 400 years into its growth is rather archaic in comparison to how fast your received this information on your screen. Is is part of us…did we have to learn how to fight off another tribe to survive. If we use historical information from the files of Anthropology we can envision our prehistoric ancestors living on a savanna and enjoying life. We can see a few families in close proximity when another group comes over the hill. They may be hungry and want our food, or our women, or our caves. And so the fight for life begins. Is this where Endemic Warfare began; is it an unconscious tool for survival that spills over into civilization? Or maybe our brains have not progressed emotionally as we have intellectually. Maya Angelou wrote, “History, despite its wrenching pain cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.” I see change coming and perhaps there will be a blending of our tribes in the future; but what about now. I recall an quote from Oscar Wilde, “The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple.” We need to come together. Soon.
